A 10-Minute Morning Ritual for Tired Women
✦
Before the emails, the school run and everyone else's needs — ten quiet minutes that change the whole tone of your day.

Most women I coach do not need a whole new life. They need the first ten minutes of the day back. When the morning begins in reaction — phone in hand, cortisol already climbing — the nervous system spends the rest of the day trying to catch up. This short ritual gives your body a calmer starting point.
Why the first ten minutes matter
Cortisol naturally rises in the first hour after waking. That surge is meant to gently lift you into the day. When we meet it with urgency, noise and caffeine on an empty stomach, we amplify a signal that is already loud — and by mid-afternoon the crash arrives.
A slow, predictable opening tells the body that you are safe. Safety is the doorway to digestion, clear thinking and steady energy.
The ritual, step by step
Keep it simple enough that you will actually do it on your hardest week.
- ✦Minute 1–2: Feet on the floor, three slow breaths — in for four, out for six.
- ✦Minute 3–4: A full glass of water, room temperature, before coffee.
- ✦Minute 5–7: Warm herbal tea and one page of honest writing. No editing.
- ✦Minute 8–9: Open a window or step outside for natural light on your face.
- ✦Minute 10: One sentence of prayer or intention for the day ahead.
Making it stick
Attach the ritual to something you already do — the kettle, the kitchen window, the same chair. Repetition, not intensity, is what rewires a habit.
If you miss a morning, begin again the next one. Grace is part of the practice.
“Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.”
Ten unhurried minutes will do more for your energy this month than any supplement you can buy.
